My Celebrant Story

Years later, I took to gardening, in a BIG way. I launched myself at thickets, trees with the use of diggers, chainsaws, dumper trucks and tractors. My folks, kids and chums cheered me on in my toil, bolstering my confidence to tackle and create rooms in the garden. As it evolved, The Garden Across the Road grew into a wedding photography venue. Couples began to ask if they could hold their wedding in the garden. Then Jenna floated the idea that I officiate. My roots as a facilitator, gardener and and my interest in civil rights came together and becoming a Humanist Celebrant was a natural step. I enrolled and undertook the fabulous Humanist UK training and am now an accredited wedding celebrant. And O How I Love it! |
The idea of becoming a wedding celebrant probably started with my own wedding: a looooong time ago.
It was quirky, individual and a glorious hoot -in my humble opinion. There were a few hurdles to address - so a homespun wedding with a sports' day reception was dreamed up. Instead of cutting the cake, a disco, top tables and speeches, we had rounders, footy, short tennis and a games' night. My Goals as a Celebrant
I commit to helping couples, from any background, have their perfect day. I aim to support their every choice, offer advice if asked and deliver what they need, want and hope for, with a cherry on the top. I'm small but mighty and want couples to be mighty proud of their wedding.
